EMMANUEL BIBLE SCHOOL,   SOUTH INDIA

… to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the Body of Christ.  Ephesians 4:12

Emmanuel Bible School, South India is a three-day in-house training program for rural Pastors who have never been to seminaries, have had no formal biblical training or have attended any pastoral conferences due to lack of financial resources.  The only literature in their possession is a Tamil language Bible.

Rev Sunil Noah started this ministry in 2005 with a vision to strengthen the rural churches in South India. He is also the lead Pastor of Zion Indian Church at Austin, TX.  He has planted churches in India, New Zealand, Michigan and now in Austin.

Pastor Sunil will be in South India from SEPTEMBER 13-30, 2010 to train about 300 pastors at three different locations in Madurai, Tiruvanamalai & Thoraipakkam in the State of Tamil Nadu, South India.

Since January 2005, Rev Sunil Noah has trained and equipped 1010 Pastors at eight centers in the State of Tamil Nadu, South India (Thiruvellore, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Padapai, Chengelpet, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Gobichettipalayam & Salem). Trained leaders have gone on to plant new churches.

Missionary Speakers Available In Texas

Are you aware that you could have a “real live missionary” speak in your church

and share what God is doing in the “ends of the earth”?

The Events team of the International Mission Board would like you to know that there are several international missionaries who are, or will be, stateside in Texas throughout 2010 and available to speak in churches.

Here’s how it works:

  • Contact Mary Jo Hines, Mobilization Specialist

1-800-999-3113, ext. 1453

mhines@imb.org

  • Your request information will be entered into the system and the Events team will pass along the opportunities by secure emails and/or phone.
  • When a match is made, contact information will be passed on to your church so that you can work out the logistics with the speaker.
  • Your church is responsible to pay any travel expenses – mileage, lodging, airfare – missionaries do not have stateside travel allowances.

PictureThe Kitchen Magician

Lori Cline

The Kitchen Magician is a ministry-minded catering service that serves Christian churches and Christian-based organizations on a love offerin

basis. A portion of the offering collected will be donated to hunger relief ministries in the Central Texas area.

The Kitchen Magician will give 10% of the total love offering collected to a hunger relief ministry. If your church or church-related organization supports a hunger relief ministry on a regular basis then the 10% will go towards that ministry. This could be anything from a local Christian-based food pantry (even your own church's food pantry) or another ministry that exists to support the relief of hunger in Central Texas. If you do not have a ministry that you support, then the 10% will go towards a ministry of The Kitchen Magician's choosing.

Your Church Can Help

Habitat for Humanity provides their construction crew with a meal on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday build days. Would your church help them honor their efforts by providing one of these meals? It’s a great opportunity for our community to support the volunteers who give of their time to build homes for deserving families.

Food providers traditionally provide an entrée, a side item and a dessert. Habitat provides drinks and paper products, so all you have to do is provide the food. Volunteers are happy to have something as simple as sandwiches, chips and cookies. It is up to you to decide the menu. You can deliver your meal to the build site and help serve volunteers or the lunch donation can be picked up and delivered to the site.

If you believe your church would be willing to support this mission with a lunch donation, please consider running the following in your weekly bulletin or newsletter.

Help Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County support volunteers. Would your Sunday school class, small group, prayer circle, or youth group be willing to provide lunch to Habitat construction volunteers on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday?

Please contact Patricia at 512-863-4344 or email Patricia@williamsonhabitat.org for more information.

The Burma Connection

A Unique Mission-Based Opportunity

Reed Iwami and Gary Watkins, of Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas have just returned from their fifth journey in two years to the Burma/Thailand area. They are prepared to share not only their personal stories, but to discuss the varied ways – orphanages, neighborhood Christian schools, mission trips, micro finance programs, refugee assistance – in which any church or church member can participate in an incredibly rewarding mission-based experience.

Reed and Gary’s passion for helping the Burmese has led them to create a unique mission strategy that combines the business innovation of their for-profit company, World Wed Resources, with their non-profit 501 organization, The Burma Connection. It is their intent to help fund the humanitarian work with the net profits from their web service-related business.

You can help in at least two ways:

  • Visit The Burma Connection’s website and review the various ways you can participate in this unique mission work, and then contact one of them to learn more.
  • Help them to fund this humanitarian effort by supporting their work. They have custom designed a multitude of church websites. Perhaps your church web site needs a fresh look or enhancements. Or you may know of others who would like to re-design their website or developing their first web presence. Visit World Web Resources at www.worldwebresources.com.

If your church is looking for a unique mission-base opportunity, working with The Burma Connection and World Web Resources is a worthy consideration.

The Volunteers Organizations

Assisting in Disaster

 Needs Your Help!

The VOAD is a network of religious and other non-profit organizations that are prepared to participate in relief efforts that might be needed in case of natural disaster. VOAD works in conjunction with Williamson County, FEMA and the American Red Cross by providing a list of contact names/churches/ organizations willing to volunteer as ‘first responders’ to help those with immediate and long-term needs as a result of declared disasters in our community and surrounding counties.

In the short term, members typically have an ability to provide temporary parking and staging areas, temporary shelter, services or supplies. Long term assistance is usually in the form of case management, help with rebuilding or supplies.

The VOAD is looking for a three (3) year commitment from faith based organizations that are willing to commit resources (personnel, funds or equipment) to meet the needs of people affected by disaster, without regard to race, creed, gender or age. A list of help and helpers, in each and every corner of Williamson County, is currently being constructed into one database. If you, your church or non-profit organization is interested in becoming a VOAD volunteer,

Contact Jim Rowan at Central Baptist Church, Round Rock; (512) 388-3408 or email Jim@centralbaptist. org

An Opportunity to Serve in Romania

Following a mission trip to Romania, Stan Ray and his wife established a non-profit charity, Emanuel Agriculture Development, for the purpose of supporting the ministry of a private Christian University in Oradea, Romania. Their objective is to establish a formal college-level agribusiness and economic development program to help the Romanian people prosper in the free market economy. By teaching modern business principles and practices, but in the context of agriculture, people in rural communities throughout Romania will learn how to establish commercially-viable farming operations that provide economic stability and prosperity for their families, their communities and their country.

They are currently seeking opportunities to meet with potential sponsors as well as those interested in traveling to Romania to share their agribusiness expertise. If you would like to be involved, you may contact Stan Ray at sray@agdevelopment.org or visit their website at www.agdevelopment.org.

First Baptist Church of Huntsville, Texas

and

The Restorative Justice Ministries of North America

Welcome Back Ministry connects the men and women released from prison as well as their families with churches across Texas and the United States. Every year this ministry impacts about 50,000 of the70,000 men and women released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Over the past years, it has been discovered that out of the nearly 150 men released daily from the Huntsville prison, less than 10 are connected with a local church. As volunteers meet daily with these families, they are discovering that many are willing to give a local church a chance and others are willing to start some type of Bible study group in their homes.

  • Churches are needed to minister to ex-offenders and their families so these families would be connected with a local church.
  • Churches are needed to mentor/train an off campus Bible study group.
  • Individuals are needed to minister to ex-offenders and their families or to lead a Bible study group.

Apartment Life - You bring a heart for your neighbors.....we provide the apartment

Apartment Life is a simple yet powerful and scalable strategy for reaching apartment communities for Christ.
