For everyone who works with the music ministry or children's choirs in the local church and community. Each of the attendees will be trained for a year's worth of ministry during the half-day event and will be given tools and taught skills which will enhance your church's ministries and benefit the outreach to the community. The training includes high-energy presentations of innovative methods for music education, use of instruments in children's choirs, fun activities and learning techniques that everyone loves, along with new music and resources.

TEX (Teaching English with Excellence)

Basic ESL Training for New ESL Teachers of Adult Students

 

 

WHEN:            August 13 & 14, 2010

                        Friday, 6:30am-9:30pm and Saturday, 8:30am-3:00pm

Arrive on Friday before 6:30pm to check in and receive materials. Training is sequential so attendance at BOTH sessions is required.

On Monday, August 16th, from 6pm to 8pm, the Austin Baptist Association, located at 1016 East 38 ½ Street, Austin, Texas will have a gathering of church prayer coordinators. If your church has designated a person as a prayer coordinator or if you are interested in starting a prayer ministry, this will be an opportunity for prayer coordinators to gather for prayer and training. Information and resources on prayer walking will also be available.

 

Phil Miglioratti will be leading the meeting. Phil has spent the last ten years of his ministry working with churches and ministries around the country. He leads, coaches, teaches, preaches, facilitates, writes, blogs, networks and prays to help churches and ministries take hold of prayer. Phil primarily works though the National Pastors’ Prayer Network and Prayer INC.

A study of the first five books of the Old Testament.

 

Old Testament II - Prophets - October 4 - November 1, 2010 

A study of the historical and major prophetical books of the Old Testament.

 

Old Testament III - Writings - November 8 - December 6, 2010                   

A study of the nature of Hebrew poetry, especially as it portrays the Hebrew concept of wisdom. Students examine Job, Psalms, Proverbs, and other poetic portions of the Old Testament.

A study of the various means of preparation for ministry. Students examine the call to ministry and the minister’s role in the mission of the Church.

 

Personal Evangelism - October 4 - November 1, 2010

A study of the principles, theology, and methods of New Testament evangelism. Students learn personal witnessing and training methods.                       

 

The Work of the Minister - November 8 - December 6, 2010

A study of the day-to-day tasks and challenges of the contemporary minister.  Students learn how to conduct weddings, funerals, church ordinances, church business meetings, and the ministry of pastoral care.

The English Brothers are a group of Christian brothers from Texas who will engage you as they perform classic western tunes such as Cool Water and Ghost Riders in the Sky and some great spiritual songs. Their unique genetic vocal blend accompanied by pure acoustic instrumentation will take you back to the sounds of the great singing cowboys like the Sons of the Pioneers, Roy Rogers, and Gene Autry.

New Ministry

Evening English Classes (EEC)

First Baptist Church Round Rock will begin an Evening English Classes ministry in September.  The registration will be held upstairs in the youth area of the First Life Center (Education Building) on Tuesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.  The first classes will be held the following Tuesday, September 14 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and every Tuesday thereafter, following the public school calendar. 

 

  • Child care will NOT be provided. 
  • Classes are free to participants, but there is a charge for the student books. 
  • Classes will be limited.
