Marriage and Family Counseling

Who We Are -The Center for Relational Care, in partnership with Intimate Life Ministries, equips churches to minister effectively to hurting people. In addition to providing counseling services in selected locations, we partner with churches, ministries, and other organizations throughout the world to provide a continuum of care and relational enrichment for marriages, families, individuals, and children.

Our Approach -Our staff of professional and pastoral counselors are trained in a unique approach for helping people in crisis as well as those who simply want to experience more joy and meaning in life. By helping people experience biblical truth as they deepen their relationship with God and with others, we seek to halt the deterioration of unhealthy patterns, bringing hope and healing to broken relationships, wounded hearts, and damaged lives.

For information or to make a counseling appointment, contact 512-492-6200. The Center is conveniently located at 11615 Angus Road in Austin, Texas.   www.relationalcare.org.

Abundant Life Counseling Services is a group of counselors with professional expertise and a deep sense of abiding faith that seeks to meet people at their point of need using both scriptural truth and relational / psychological principles.

Our tagline is, “Abundant Life Counseling Services . . . Helping people Live. Helping people Love.” (John 10:10, Matthew 22:37-39). Believing that Abundant Life is about growth and faith in Jesus Christ amid a broken and suffering world, we seek to bring hope from relevant scriptural principles and an eternal worldview as we journey with people in the midst of seemingly hopeless situations, helping them not to simply cope, but to truly live victoriously. Believing that Abundant Life is also about loving God and loving people, we have a strong emphasis on relationships and relational principles, helping people to “walk out” what scripture teaches about relationships and trusting God, even during overwhelming conflict and pain.

Counseling Ministry

Trisha Cook is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern and certified school counselor working to provide people with practical, Christ-centered and affordable counseling services.

Trisha began her work with children ten years ago as a Special Education teacher at the elementary and high school levels. Her Special Education training and experience gives her a solid understanding of child development, learning and cognition, education policies and procedures that effect children. During her experience as a middle school counselor, Trisha learned to assess and treat a wide range of mental health issues facing school aged children and their families. Sexual, physical, and emotional trauma, addiction, suicide, divorce, anxiety, anger-management, low self-esteem, behavior disorders and sexual identity issues are just a few of the issues that she has helped students and their families learn to cope with and understand.

Trisha uses a solution-focused approach to counseling. Solution focused techniques concentrate on strengths and resources that the client has available and uses those strengths and resources to begin working on solutions rather than focusing on the problem. Her view of the counseling process is one in which the client and the counselor work together to understand and trust one another in order to work as a team to explore and define the present problem situation and develop goals for an improved life.

Trisha works with individuals, couples and families on an outpatient basis. Her approach in helping clients is designed to explore client problems, identify appropriate counseling objectives, develop strategies to reach the objectives, evaluate the effectiveness/outcomes of the strategies and plan for follow-up to ensure continued success.

Counseling Services are a ministry provided by NewChurch, Georgetown. For appointments or more information contact Trisha Cook at 254-793-2798 or Trish.balancedliving@yahoo.com
